There will be no Weekend Edition show today, instead Kerby welcomes Robert J. Hutchinson, author of Searching for Jesus, New Discoveries in the Quest for Jesus of Nazareth—and How They Confirm the Gospel Accounts. Hutchinson, an award-winning writer who studied philosophy as an undergraduate, moved to Israel to learn Hebrew, and earned a graduate degree in New Testament studies.

In the second hour we hear from Daniel Darling, vice president of communications for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. He discusses his book, The Original Jesus: Trading the Myths We Create for the Savior Who Is.
